Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for the personal data collected through this site is Science Infinity Technology Limited, Business Registration No. 75972743, whose registered office is at Unit 03, 22/F, Easey Commercial Building, 253-261 Hennessy Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong.

That company decides why and how your personal data is processed, and it is the company you deal with when you want to exercise any of the rights below. You can reach it at the support address at the foot of this page.

What we collect

  • What you give us when you order: name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, and the contents of your order.
  • What you give us when you open an account: email address, password (stored only as a hash), and the addresses you save.
  • What you give us when you ask to hear from us: your email address, when you join the pre-order list or write to support. When you join the pre-order list we record, along with your email address, the country you are in, as worked out from your IP address.
  • Payment data: handled by our payment provider. We receive a confirmation and the last digits of the card. We never receive or store your full card number.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit, in server logs. Our carriers and our hosting provider also see the data they need to deliver the site and your parcel.

We do not ask for, and do not want, any special category data. Health measurements taken by the ring are held in the mobile app under that app's own privacy notice; they are not collected by this site.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

  • Taking, fulfilling and delivering your order — performance of a contract with you.
  • Customer support, returns, exchanges and warranty claims — performance of a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering you.
  • Importing your parcel and paying the duties on it — compliance with a legal obligation.
  • Keeping accounting and tax records — compliance with a legal obligation.
  • Detecting fraud and keeping the site secure — our legitimate interest in protecting the store.
  • Telling you when pre-orders open, if you asked us to — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the parties that make the store work: our payment provider, our carriers and customs brokers, our warehouse and returns operator, our hosting and email providers, and our professional advisers. Each of them acts on our instructions or, where they are a controller in their own right, under their own notice. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

Where your data goes

We are a Hong Kong company, our warehouse is in mainland China, and our providers operate in several countries. Personal data of buyers in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom is therefore transferred outside those areas. Those transfers are made under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, together with the additional safeguards those clauses require.

How long we keep it

Order and accounting records are kept for 7 years, because tax law requires it. Account data is kept until you close the account. Support correspondence is kept for 3 years. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it. Server logs are kept for 90 days.

Your rights under the GDPR and the UK GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR and the UK GDPR give you the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased, where we no longer need it or where you withdraw consent;
  • restrict or object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests, including profiling;
  • receive your data in a portable, machine-readable form and have it sent to another controller;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it;
  • complain to a supervisory authority — in the EU, the authority of the country you live or work in; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.

Your rights under the CCPA

If you are a California resident, the CCPA, as amended, gives you the right to know what personal information we have collected, used and disclosed about you in the last 12 months; to request its deletion; to request correction of inaccurate information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information for any purpose that would require that limit. We will never discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

You may use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf; we will ask for proof of the authorisation.

How to exercise any of these rights

Email the support address at the foot of this page and tell us which right you want to use. We reply within one month, and we will tell you if we need longer because the request is complex. We may ask you for enough information to be sure the request is really yours — usually the email address on your order — and exercising these rights is always free unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

Which cookies this site sets, and what each of them is for, is on the Cookie Policy page.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal data, we update this page and change the date shown at the top of it.
